It would be useful if the Council could require developers to demonstrate agreement in principle or consent from the appropriate rail authorities, where development is proposed on railway land. If this were a condition of an application being accepted, it might reduce the risk of applications being aborted at a later stage because railway approvals were not forthcoming.
