It is important to stress the need to apply these criteria fairly and uniformly throughout the town. The central area of the town seems to be prone to the development of unsympathetic and over-bearing blocks of flats, whereas the leafy suburbs (where many council officials live) magically escape these depradations. In addition, the town needs more family dwellings, and not more blocks of flats.
