As a resident of Westcliff I live within a unique area of Southend.
There are some architectural gems hidden around Westcliff, with a cluster around Hamlet Court Road. This areas heritage is at risk. The carving up houses and the loss of original facades is a worry.
I believe that their should be Hamlet Court Conservation area.
I live in one of the last houses on Burdett Avenue that still has its orginal facade and layout. I have watched wonderful homes being lost to flats and HMO's. A conservation area designation would ensure that any further development is this area would be sympathetic to the area.
